Picture this. A general contractor is sitting in traffic on I-95 in Miami. He's behind a truck and pulls out his phone to snap a picture of the name on the side. Why? Because he's so short on reliable subcontractors he'll take the number off a bumper if he has to.

A GC actually told us that.

Meanwhile, subcontractors tell us they want more work.

70% of GCs on COMPASS are actively expanding into new regions where they don't already have a trusted contact list. They need to find qualified subcontractors quickly, so they search COMPASS. If you're not showing up in that search, you don't exist to them. It doesn't matter how long you've been in business or how good your work is. If they can't find you, they can't hire you.

If you want to be found, do two things

  1. Get a Q Score, and keep it up to date.
  2. Authorize the GCs on COMPASS you want to work with, so they can see you're open to the work.

After all, there's a limit to how many trucks you can buy.

“If they can't find you, they can't hire you.”
